Public Workshops: The SEEDS Team involved the research and data provider communities in the Formulation process through representatives on the Study Teams and through three Public Workshops, held to solicit comments and suggestions from the research and data provider communities in general. Each workshop focused on a particular issue. Presentations, papers and results from each workshop are available on that workshop's web page:

• The First Workshop focused on establishing levels of service for SEEDS providers.
• The Second Workshop focused on developing community-based processes to guide the development and validation of SEEDS protocols and standards, cost models, interfaces, technology, and accountability.
• The Third Workshop focused on the draft recommendations of the SEEDS formulation Team.

Study Teams: The SEEDS Formulation Process was conducted via seven Study Teams, each addressing an aspect Data System Evolution.
